Main Lodge & American Plan Meals

The main lodge is the center focus of the camp. Guests are welcome to relax on the front porch and look out over the lake and watch wildlife wonder by or become inundated with thoughts of adventure while witnessing the most beautiful sunsets imaginable. Inside the lodge is the lounge area where guests can play cards or games or just relax and shoot the breeze with other guests about the day's fishing. There is always a pot of coffee on and you can help yourself. If you are a corporate group and have a little business to discuss, we can make some presentation tools available for you. We have a screen and flip chart and will bring in a projector and computer for workshops and conferences.

To the right is a picture of our central washroom and shower facility and the inside of our beautiful spruce sauna. Both are available to all our guests. Nothing gets you cleaner and more relaxed than taking a quick shower then relaxing in the sauna for a few minutes and then jumping in the lake. If you jump in the lake before June 15, you become a member of the Polar Bear Club. Please click a picture below to enlarge

The main lodge is also where our guests gather to dine on delicious home cook meals. The thing about being in the far north is the clean fresh air combined with being busy all day makes you hungry. We know you will have an appetite like you have never had before and we are going to feed you. All dishes are home made with only the highest quality ingredients. Portions are large. If you have special dietary needs please tell us when you reserve your vacation. Over the years we have fashioned our menu around what dishes our guests like the most. Below is a sample menu:

Breakfast:
For breakfasts we server everybody's favorites such as bacon or sausage, eggs done many ways, hash browns, pancakes or French toast, fruit plate, porridge, dry cereal, toast, jam, honey, peanut butter, orange and apple juice, coffee or hot chocolate. Omelets are made to order and a favorite of our guests.

Dinner:
A typical main entrée is one or two meats such as steak, ribs, pork chops, turkey or chicken and more. Side dishes can be many things such as potatoes, rice or pasta. We also serve healthy vegetables such as peas, carrots, green/yellow beans, broccoli and cauliflower. Home made buns and bread are always served.

Appetizers:
Appetizers are usually home made soup or salad. Caesar Salad, Greek Salad, various jellied salads and good old fashion Chef salad.

Dessert:
Home made dessert such as pies, cakes, puddings, cheese cake, as well as a variety of cookies. Coffee, tea, iced-tea, hot chocolate and water is always served after or during your meal.

An Example Dinner:
Home made soup, ribs, baked potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower in cheese sauce, Caesar Salad, blueberry cheese cake and cookies, coffee, tea, iced-tea, or hot chocolate.

We have an excellent chef and the guests always rave about the food. Many of our repeat guests want to know if the chef is still with us when they reserve their vacation.
